Tobacco Regulatory Science has been approved for an Impact Factor.

In 2018 Tobacco Regulatory Science was accepted for indexing in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), a new edition of Web of Science™. The quality and depth of content Web of Science offered to researchers, authors, publishers, and institutions sets it apart from other research databases. The inclusion of Tobacco Regulatory Science in the ESCI demonstrates our dedication to providing the most relevant and influential tobacco regulatory content to our community. Acceptance by ESCI is critical for earning an Impact Factor.

Subsequently (2020), an Impact Factor was approved reaching back for articles published beginning January 1, 2018 forward.

An Impact Factor will be available soon.

The journal Impact Factor is the average number of times articles from the journal published in the past two years have been cited. The Impact Factor is calculated by dividing the number of citations by the total number of articles published in the two previous years. An Impact Factor of 1.0 means that, on average, the articles published one or two year ago have been cited one time. An Impact Factor of 2.5 means that, on average, the articles published one or two year ago have been cited two and a half times. The citing works may be articles published in the same journal. However, most citing works are from different journals, proceedings, or books indexed by Web of Science.
