Abstract

Demolition permits serve as a control mechanism employed by the administration to safeguard the environment from the dangers associated with the demolition of buildings. While individuals originally had the freedom to demolish their buildings without prior administrative authorization, the Algerian legislature has restricted this freedom by requiring a demolition permit for buildings protected by the provisions of Law No. 98-04 on the Protection of Cultural Heritage or when dictated by technical and safety requirements.
