A Brief Insight about spondylolisthesis
Main Article Content
Abstract
Background: Different types of spondylolisthesis are classified according to the direction of the sliding of the superior vertebral disc over the inferior disc. This can happen either at the front, side, or back of the spine. Low back discomfort and neurogenic claudication, which are made worse with spinal extension and exercise, may be symptoms of spondylolisthesis, albeit it is generally asymptomatic. A thorough patient history, physical examination, and diagnostic imaging can all help narrow down the possible diagnoses. Physical therapy and pain management are components of conservative treatment, which is the initial line of defense. Surgical decompression, stabilization, and fusion may be considered for patients who do not respond to conservative therapy. The purpose of this review is to go over spondylolisthesis and its symptoms, causes, manifestations, and possible treatments.
